iBall launches CompBook i360 convertible laptop with 11.6-inch touchscreen display


iBall has launched CompBook i360 covertible laptop with a touch screen display and 360 degree rotatble hinge that allows users to use it as a laptop, tablet or mount it in stand or tent mode, similar to Lenovo's Yoga series.

The iBall CompBook i360 runs Windows 10 and is powered by an Intel quad-core  Atom X5-Z8300 processor clocked at 1.84GHz with Intel HD Graphis 5300 and 2GB RAM. It features 11.6-inch  (1366 x 768 pixels) multi-touch IPS display and 32GB internal storage. In case the built-in storage is not enough, you can expand the storage via microSD card or connect your external HDD via USB.

The convertible packs in a beefy 10000mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to seven hours of working time or video playback and 20 hours of music playback.

Other features include a front camera, dual speakers, USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, HDMI ports, 3.5mm combo jack for headphone & mic, WiFi and Bluetooth. It also boasts features like Touch to Open Up, a custom start menu, live tiles, snap assist, task view, virtual desktops and more.

The iBall CompBook i360 is priced at Rs. 12,999 and comes in Golden color.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G Windows 10 laptop gets official


Chinese device maker Xiaomi in partnership with China Mobile has unveiled the Mi Notebook Air 4G in China. As the name suggests the laptop supports Cat.4 4G LTE that offers download speeds of up to 150Mbps.

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G will be available in two models ― 12.5-inch and 13.3-inch display ― bearing 1920 x 1080 resolution with 5.71mm and 5.59mm ultra-narrow borders respectively.

Both models have the same configuration as their non-4G variants, that was launched back in July, but the 13.3-inch model comes with sixth-gen core i7 processor offering 10 percent improvement over the Core i5 processor found in non-4G variant.

The 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air 4G features Intel Core m3 6Y30 processor w/ on-board Intel Graphics 515, 4GB LPDDR3 RAM, 128GB SATA SSD and an additional SSD expansion slot.  It is 12.9mm thick at its thinnest, and weighs in at 1.07kg, and promises battery life of up to 11.5 hours.

The 13.3-inch model has an Intel Core i7 Skylake processor, NVIDIA GeForce GT940MX GPU (1GB DDR5 memory), 8GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD and an additional SSD expansion slot. It is 14.8mm thick, weighs 1.28kg and promises up to 9.5 hours of battery life.


Both models will run windows 10 and include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1 for wireless connectivity. Other features include 1MP HD webcam, 2 x USB 3.0 ports (one on 12.5-inch model), HDMI port, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and dual speakers w/ Dolby Audio.

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G (Gold and Silver hues) has been priced at CNY 4699 ($676 | Rs. 45,850) for the 12.5-inch model and CNY 6999 ($1005 | Rs. 68,335 for the 13.3-inch model. The laptop comes bundled with 4G per month data plan on China Mobile worth CNY 130, which means you get 48GB worth of data for a year worth 1560 for free.

Acer Aspire C All-in-One desktops have super-slim bezels


Acer has announced Aspire C series affordable All-in-One Windows 10 desktops in the U.S. THE AIO PC comes in two models with ― 21.5-inch and 23.8-inch display ― bearing 1920 x 1080 resolution and features extremely thin .31-inch bezels to maximize viewing area, giving it a stunning look.

The 21.5-inch Aspire C is an entry-level model powered by 1.6GHz Intel Celeron J3160 processor with 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD. It carries a price tag of $449.

The 23.8-inch AIO model comes with 2.3GHz Intel Core i3-6100U processor, 8GB RAM and 1TB HDD. It is priced at $699.

Both of the new Aspire C AIOs include 1MP HD webcam, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, 2 x USB 2.0 port, dual-speakers, built-in single array microphone, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and WiFi 802.11ac. Besides Windows 10, Acer says customers will be able to select models with choice of Linpus Simple Linux or FreeDOS.

Samsung Notebook 9 gets a refresh with light-weight design and Kaby Lake


Samsung is refreshing its 13-inch and 15-inch Notebook 9 laptops with Kaby Lake and few additional features.

The laptops also gets a design tweak with a with more curved chassis, making it thinner and lighter than its predecessors. It also sport slim bezels for the near edge-to-edge display. With the tweaks, the 15-inch model now weighs 2 pounds (984g) while the 13-inch model weighs in at 1.8 pounds (817g).

The 13.3-inch and 15-inch Notebook 9 laptops run Windows 10 and feature Full HD IPS display, backlit keyboards, built-in fingerprint scanner & 720p webcam for Windows Hello support, microSD card slot, HDMI, WiFi 802.11ac and 1.5 Watt speakers.

The 13.3-inch Notebook 9 will be available with the option of Core i5/8GB RAM and Core i7/16GB RAM with storage options of 128GB or 256GB SSD. It includes 2 x USB 3.0 ports and a USB Type-C port.

The 15-inch Notebook 9 on the other hand feature Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake chip and can be configured with 4GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB SSD storage. It has 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port and USB Type-C port.

The Notebook 9 laptops pack 30 Wh battery, which is rated for up to 7 hours of usage time. It also supports fast charging as well promising full recharge in just 80 minutes,

HP Elitebook 800 G4 series laptops with Kaby Lake, enhanced security features announced


HP has expanded its Elitebook 800 business class Windows 10 laptop line up with three new models featuring Intel Kaby Lake processor. In addition HP will also add new security features to secure user's identity and data.

Starting with the EliteBook 800 G4 series laptops HP will include Sure Start Gen 3 security, which is designed to automatically detect tampering attempts on the BIOS from attacks and notify the user. BIOS is firmware that starts the laptop before the operating system software boots.

HP Sure Start Gen3 will help prevent such attacks by automatically detecting tampering attempts with the BIOS (both in pre-boot and run-time), notifying the user of a problem and restoring the BIOS to its original pristine condition from a copy stored on a dedicated computer chip. In that sense, it's self-healing.

The HP EliteBook 800 G4 series laptop comes in 12.5-inch, 14-inch and 15.6-inch screen models. The smallest model with 12-inch display can be configured with HD (1280 x 720)/Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, touchscreen option, Core i3/Core i5/Core i7 Kaby Lake processors w/ Intel HD graphics, up to 32GB DDR4 RAM and up to 512GB SSD or 1TB HDD.

It will include a USB Type-C port, USB 3.1 port, VGA port, Ethernet and DisplayPort Jacks, NFC, Webcam for Windows Hello, fingerprint scanner and more.

The 14-inch model will be available with the same configuration as 12.5-inch model, but come with with the option of 2560 x 1440 pixel display in addition to HD/Full HD and pack slightly bigger battery.

Lastly the 15.6-inch model will be available in 3840 x 2160 pixel, 1920 x 1080 pixel or 1366 x 768 pixel display option. In addition you get the option opt for AMD Radeon R7 M465 graphics. Rest of the configuration is similar to the 12.5-inch and 14-inch Elitebook 850 G4 laptops.

The HP EliteBook 820 G4 line-up will be available in 2017.

Chuwi LapBook 14.1 is a Windows 10 laptop with Apollo Lake for under $300


China based tablet maker Chuwi last month launched its first laptop called LapBook with 15.6-inch display. Now it has introduced a new smaller and more powerful model of the laptop with 14.1-inch screen and Apollo Lake processor.

The new Chuwi LapBook comes with 14.1-inch Full HD display with slim bezels and is powered by Intel's Apollo Lake based Intel Celeron N3450 quad-core processor with HD graphics. It features 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC storage and 2MP front camera.

Running on Windows 10, the laptop has a USB 2.0 host port, a USB 3.0 port, microSD card slot, HDMI port, , WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3.5mm audio jack. It is backed by 9000mAh battery, which promises fours of video playback. The laptop weighs 1.3kg.

The Chuwi LapBook 14.1 will be available by end of this month for $300 or less.
