Cold rescue crews called off a search Sunday evening after spending more than four hours in freezing water attempting to rescue or recover the bodies of two or more people believed to be in a car submerged in a Lynwood pond.
Divers plan to resume the recovery operation Monday morning, Lynwood Fire Chief John Cobb said. Emergency personnel believe at least two people were trapped in a sedan that crashed Sunday at about 12:35 p.m. into a Metropolitan Water Reclamation District retention pond along Lincoln Highway.
