Mikel says he spent over $30000 helping to organise logistics at Rio 2016

The last is yet to be heard of Nigeria's chaotic preparations for Rio 2016 as team captain, Mikel Obi has revealed just how much he was involved behind the scenes. Speaking with goal.com the Chelsea midfielder said:
"I think if we talk about the money that I put into the team I think it was more than [£30,000] but we just had to do it.
"I said to myself, 'I won’t let this happen. If I can help, I’ll try to help'. Sometimes there was no food, sometimes there was no pitch to train on, there was no bus to go to the training ground. So all of this was what me and the coach had to figure out, and get money together.
"I came to the camp. I sat down with the boys in Atlanta and I could see the frustration, the pain and the anger. Their aim was to play in the Olympics, their goal was to play in the Olympics.
"And for me being there and seeing what they are going through, they are young boys, they want to start their career and someone in the ministry is trying to crush that dream."

On the now infamous incident which saw the team arrive Rio with just hours to spare after haphazard travel arrangements he said: "There was just no flight provided by the Nigerian ministry. "We planned to leave three or four days before the tournament, but we ended up leaving the day of our first game. It was a difficult one. I don’t think I have ever seen something like that before, it was crazy.
"[After our last minute flight] we got to the hotel, dropped our bags, grabbed some sandwiches, something to eat. A little bit of food. Then headed straight back to the stadium because we hadn’t even done our accreditations then, so we had to go there and wait in the line, do our accreditation.
"It was absolutely hectic. I don’t know how we managed to go onto the pitch and win that game, it was absolutely mind blowing."
He also spoke of his pride at winning bronze, Nigeria's only medal at the competition.
"Sometimes I wear my medal around the house, it gets my missus jealous," he joked as he showed off his medal. "The kids love playing with the medal. I am sure one day they will know what this really means."
Still on the problems the team faced en route Olympic glory he said: "We had lots of problems outside the pitch, but I always told the boys that you shouldn’t let that affect what we came here to do. We still want to achieve what we came here to do. We still have to represent our country and play for ourselves and our family and the people of Nigeria.
"So if the ministry don’t want to take responsibility, we have to make sure we play for ourselves and our country. The boys understand that and we made sure they went along with my message that I kept putting across to them every single day and we managed to achieve what we did achieve."

CDQ-Album-Quality-back-cover

After gaining the streetz’s attention CDQ decides to properly introduce himself to his fans with the self-acclaimed Quality album. Quality is an album monotonously produced by Mastercraft.  However, several Mix masters made influential contribution to some of the tracks.
Without further ado here is the epoch review based on a track-by-track analysis.
FCFS
Honestly, I don’t know what inspired this track. The title does not correlate with the lyrics in any way. This is woeful attempt at story telling.
Talosobe
Again, a weak hook, weak punch line. Everything about this track is wrong except the beat. Mastercraft actually did well with the tempo; I believe a good rapper can get the best out of this beat.
Salaro
This is a street fused track, it’s the type that can get you grooving thanks to the beat. It has that street feel; this is one of the few tracks the woss, wobi signature gel with.
Ferrari
This track should not be on the album, why? Because too much emphasis has been laid on vulgarism. It’s becoming a routine for CDQ to talk about a girl’s body, can he just tell us something else… #bored
Gbemisaya
Again, mastercaft to the rescue! The beat will have you shaking your head right from the beginning. Skales made an average contribution, not his best day I guess.
Indomie ft  Olaimde and Davido
No doubt this song is a hit, I mean with Baddo and Baddest giving you that push, what could go wrong? It is a bit surprising to see olamide singing the chorus though but all in all, the street will always love indomie.
Abo ft Vector and Mastercraft
Once again CDQ appreciates Ladies with the big booty (abo), only this time with the help of Vector. One thing that made this track distinct from others is the tempo. Mastercraft went slow on this, good stuff.
Olowo ft Reminisce
For a street rap lover, you would be excited by this collaboration, but wait! The first thing that caught my attention is the beat. It sounded exactly like “2mussh” a song produced by Legendary Beatz for Reminisce’s first album. Besides that, the both of them deliver on this track.
Odikwa Ok Ft Banky W
Too much Bass for a love song, CDQ ‘s romantic attempt was ok. However, Mr Capable sounded really tired on this track, he did not have much to contribute here, I mean you would expect a better chorus.
Otishe ft Gabana Bwoy
This track actually brought out a part of CDQ we have never seen. Talking about his struggle to music and what God has done for him.
Nowo E Soke ft Wizkid
A DJ friendly song. It is a typical Cdq track but with a much better partner in Wizkid. The track is simply all shades of groove.
Shanawole Ft Iceprince
This was the first track on the album and CDQ choose to go hard-core on it. Partnered by Iceprince, this track was definitely the appropriate introduction to quality.
Sun Seyin
It is a typical CDQ song, a party song with a poor chorus. But then, Mastercraft’s beat always to the rescue.
4AM
A freestyle track, I take it back “a good freestyle track”. CDQ went hardcore on this one and once again Mastercraft came in with that sick beat.
Honestly, the album was boring, not because there was not much excitement but because the absence of versatility killed the vibes. For an album with prominent names on the track list, you would expect to C D Quality but No! it is an average album.

Police, DSS call for postponement of Edo election

The Nigerian Police Force and th Department of State Security DSS, have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone the Saturday September 10th governorship election in Edo state for security reasons. The security agencies made the call at a joint press briefing at the DSS Headquarters in Abuja today September 7th.

According to the spokesman of the police, DCP Don Awunah and his DSS counterpart, Tony Okeowo represented by Garba Abdullahi, credible intelligence available to them indicates that there may be a terror attack during next week's Sallah holidays, especially in Edo State. ‎

The police spokesperson, Don Awunah, in a statement he read during the conference said it is in the light of the intelligence gathered that they make the appeal for the postponement of the election.

“The Nigeria police and the DSS wish to inform the general public that credible intelligence availed to the agencies indicate plans by insurgent/extremist elements to attack vulnerable communities and soft targets with high population during the forthcoming Sallah celebrations between 12 and 13 September, 2016. Edo state is among the states being earmarked for these planned attacks by the extremists elements. It is in regard of this that we are appealing to INEC, which has legal duty to regulate elections in the country, to consider the need for possible postponement of the date of the election in Edo state in order to enable security agencies deal decisively with the envisaged terrorists threats. While the police/DSS remain mindful of the inconveniences this request may cause the various political stakeholders, it is our strong resolve that security agencies need not be distracted from ensuring a peaceful and secure Nigeria now and always”he said

Shaquana, who got married to her beau, Andrew last weekend, let her bridesmaids dress in all white. What do you think? Ladies would you dress your bridesmaids in white?
